Internship Marketing & Data Analysis TOA20

Job description

About TOA

Tech Open Air is Europe’s leading technology festival, which explores the future of work, and life. Our mission is to make people, organisations, and the planet future-proof. With over 200+ international speakers, 80+ satellite events, 20k attendees, and the Haus of Tech exhibition hall, TOA19 was our biggest edition yet. Now we want you to help us continue to grow and bring this year’s festival to life.

We’re an eager, young, international team (10+ nationalities) that grows every year come TOA crunch time. Nothing brings a team together like organizing an event – especially one of such awesomeness! Intrigued? Here’s what you need to know:

About the Role

We’re looking for a self-proclaimed data nerd with superlative quantitative skills, who’s eager to help us build the most successful TOA to date. In today’s rapidly evolving tech world, there is one constant: reliance on data to drive the next wave of innovation.

This is a 3-month, full-time internship, ideally beginning in early February (though we’re open to catering a later start date for the right candidate). If you’re a student from a German university, the internship can be extended to up to six months ("Pflichtpraktikum"). As an intern, you’ll be treated as one of our own, in addition to enjoying classic startup perks (free snacks and Club Mate, Friday Beers with the team, etc.).

Your responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Data and main stakeholders with data-driven projects.
  • Provide support with importing, organizing, and interpreting datasets for analysis
  • Execute high-quality data cleaning/merging/analysis within our database
  • Translate complex datasets into business-oriented findings, insights, and implications (KPIs for trends, user experience, behavior, etc.)
  • Lend technical support to the team as needed
  • Conduct and visualize web analytics and data analysis
  • Design and implement repeatable data collection processes

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge in core data science processes such as data cleansing, data visualization and reporting, data science languages and frameworks, and general programming languages
  • Solid experience and technical command in working with Excel
  • Passion for making qualitative sense of data, analyses, and results
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and an exceptional eye for detail
  • Willingness to learn and perform in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work independently, manage time, and execute tasks under pressure

Big Ups If

  • You've gained work experience in a startup
  • You’re interested in technology and the international startup ecosystem
  • You keep up-to-date with the latest innovation trends
